Children’s Group Co-ordinator

Following the announcement that Lis is to step down as Children’s Group Coordinator in July a small group from St Mary’s PCC has been set up to work out how we might proceed to find and commission a new co-ordinator. Before we go about identifying the person whom God is calling to take on this role, we are asking for everyone’s prayers for our children’s work during Lent. We give thanks for the exciting work that Lis and the other Group Leaders have done and now we pray for God’s guidance for how we should proceed in the future. We need to discern God’s guidance in how to welcome and embrace children in our churches.

We are also looking for new Children’s Group Leaders and helpers. So, if after some thought and prayer you feel God is calling you to lead or help out one of our children’s Groups on a Sunday Morning, maybe twice or once a month or even once a term, have a word with the Revd Dr Peter Hansell (0121 449 5950). At St Mary’s and St Anne’s we take Child Protection issues very seriously as Church must be a place where children are safe, so all our group leaders are required to have a CRB check. The process is straightforward and takes about 6 weeks from filling in the form.
