At St Mary’s, last term the John Dory Children’s Groups explored the Lord’s Prayer. This included hearing it in Aramaic and deciphering a ‘text’ version. From this the group created their own version:
Dear Lord,
Who looks down on us from Heaven, we worship your name.
Thy Kingdom on earth shall become more like it is in Heaven.
My family is my strength in my life and God cheers me on each and every day.
Forgive us our wrongs and lead us not into goading but protect us from evil.
Amen
Thanks to Emma, Helen, Mollie and Sienna.
During the summer term we will be using a resource called ‘Mixing it up with Harry Potter’ published by Church House specially designed for the John Dory age group. It draws on parallels between events in the Harry Potter world, and the world in which our young people live. We will hope to cover subjects including Sacrifice, Mercy, Fitting in and Boasting.
