We received an email from The Revd Paul Smith, our previous curate at St Mary’s who left five years ago moving to the Chester Diocese. The email was as followed:
It has been announced that Paul is going to be the new Rector of Wilmslow in the Diocese of Chester. This is a big parish over the other side of Cheshire, south of Manchester. There are also hopefully some (stipendiary!) possibilities unfolding for Mags. We are all very happy about this new phase in our lives. It’s a big parish but has colleague support, something we have missed a bit in Tilston. There are good schools and the ‘culture’ is more or less the same there as well. It feels good to be putting down some roots in the Diocese and hopefully, funds permitting, we will be able to keep our cottage in Wales at least for the near future. It will be good to have a new challenge to get into and good to be nearer Manchester where some close friends live but also on the edge of some lovely country. We hope to move in the last week of July and be licensed at the beginning of September.
Best wishes to you all and thank you for your prayerful support over the last few months.
Paul and Mags
