Harvest Festival: Water Aid

By The Revd Peter Hansell

During this year’s Harvest Festival we will be reflecting on the situation that many people in this world face: a life where water is very scarce. Many people in our world have to walk several miles every day in order to find water for themselves and their families. We in this country have the luxury of being able to get water from a tap, but for a very large percentage of people in this world, they need to draw their water from wells, like the woman in John 4:1-42, sometimes a good distance walk away. In order to reflect on this situation for this year’s harvest festival we will be decorating the church with some containers filled with water as well as reflecting on the importance of water in all our lives. Jesus offers living water in John 4, let us reflect on what this means this harvest time.
