Ignatian Prayer Retreat and Prayer Space in St Mary’s

By The Revd Jeremy Dussek

27 from St Mary’s and St Anne’s gathered on 9th September to hear from Mary Sambrook about the Iganatian Prayer Retreat which begins on Tuesday 14th October and runs for 6 weeks; the Ignatian Prayer Retreat does not mean going away but involves spending as little as couple of minutes a day in prayer as well as meeting a prayer guide for 10 — 20 minutes each week during this period. If you would like join others taking part, please see Helen McNichol, Elisabeth Leicester or Jeremy Dussek and sign up by 10th October.

Earlier this year, St Mary’s was given the proceeds of a retiring collection at a funeral and the family of the deceased have kindly agreed that this should pay for two votive candle stands in the Lady Chapel. When in place we will be dedicating the Lady Chapel as a place for quiet reflection and prayer; watch this space over the next month as it develops.
