Sunday 12 October will be a special day in the life of our Benefice — Vision Sunday. At the 10:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. services at St Mary’s and St Anne’s we will be presenting the Benefice Vision of what we believe God is wanting us to be and do in the next decade. It has been created over the last two years through the vision days, listening process and everything that we’ve been praying for. The presentation will take place instead of the sermon slot — there will be opportunities to ask questions and have time to reflect; both services will be shorter and the one at St Mary’s will be followed by a short communion. At the end of the service both PCC’s will meet to formally endorse the process.
A group of about 10 people from both churches will be formed to meet on a regular basis (possibly weekly or fortnightly) to work out how our Vision can be put into practice looking at our physical, human and financial resources as well as our buildings to consider what strategies, skills and changed are needed to allow our Vision to bring about God’s plans for us. Andrew Mottram of Ecclesiastical Property Solutions (who successfully developed a Church in Hereford City Centre) will help facilitate this process and be there to help set guidelines and goals for the group to follow. If you would like to be considered to take part in this, please see Jeremy or Rosemary. Come on Sunday 12 October at 10:00 a.m. (St Mary’s), 10:15 a.m. (St Anne’s), and look forward with hope to an exciting future.
