What is YG up to?

This term we are using resources from Youth Emmaus 2: Big Issues and Holy Spaces, published by Church House Publishing. This is a fourteen-session interactive discipleship course for young people, designed to help 11 to 16-year-olds integrate their faith into life and to equip them as worshippers and disciples. It breaks down into two sections: Big Issues and Holy Spaces. Holy Spaces explores creative ways of worshipping together, from protest to praise, and this was the course we followed last year during Lent. This year we are tackling Big Issues. This takes the group through Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, engaging with issues like poverty and injustice, forgiveness and reconciliation, dreams and passions. So far we have thought about how Jesus challenges his followers to be different and stand out from the crowd, and the young people have made pledges to be salt and light to the people they encounter at home, school and in the world around us.
