Administration and Finance

St. Mary’s

The church is in a fortunate position financially, being able to pay its Parish Share to the Diocesan Common Fund together with clergy expenses. There is an active Stewardship Committee and the congregation is encouraged to contribute by Gift Aid to maximise the benefit to the church. For the past five years the budget has produced a surplus. It is likely that this situation may not be sustained. The congregation has been somewhat cushioned from the true cost of running the church on account of the rental income from the church buildings. The PCC has confirmed our commitment to external giving and a number of local, national and overseas causes are supported annually in this way.

St. Anne’s

The church has always managed to meet its Common Fund commitments and jointly supports the part-time youth worker post. The policy is to donate a minimum of 5% of the previous year’s direct giving to mission and other charities.

Owing to generous bequests in the past, St. Anne’s has an investment fund known as the Piggott bequest. There is also a discretionary fund, which provides an income of approx. £500 a year for direct disbursal for charitable purposes by the priest with pastoral responsibility for St. Anne’s.

The PCCs and their Committees

Both PCCs meet six times a year. At their first meeting following the annual parish meeting the following committees are elected:

St. Mary’s:
Standing Committee,
Stewardship Committee,
External Giving Committee,
Property Committee,
Youth Committee,
Children's Sub-committee as well as various ad-hoc bodies.
St. Anne’s:
Standing,
Mission,
Social,
Magazine,
Website and Luncheon Club.

In addition, representatives are elected to the Deanery Synod and the committees of Churches Together in Moseley, the Joint Youth Steering Committee, the Joint Education and Nurture Committee, and the Joint Social Committee.
