This year both our APCM’s are in Lent to clear the business so we can fully give our time and thoughts to commemorate and celebrate Holy Week and Easter. St Mary’s APCM is on Sunday 24th February at 11:30am at St Mary’s and St Anne’s APCM is on Sunday 9th March at St Anne’s. There will be a new joint APCM Report which will be available to read from Sunday 17th February in both Churches. At the meetings there will be opportunities to ask questions, but these must be submitted 48 hours in advance to the relevant PCC secretary, so that appropriate answers can be researched if necessary. At the APCM the electoral roll is presented by the ER officers (Jenny Livermore (SM), Eric Dwyer (SA) — if you are not on the electoral now and would like to join it, please make sure you do so by Sunday 10 February at St Mary’s and Sunday 24 February at St Anne’s. After this the roll is closed and displayed for any current member to correct changes that have taken place since they were compiled last year. The Electoral Roll is a list of the names and addresses of every person who can vote in the annual parochial church meeting; it is also a way by which couples who wish to marry in either Church but who live outside the Parish boundaries may legally do so by worshipping regularly at the Church for a minimum of six months.
Any member of the Church who wishes to be a member of the PCC must also have to have been on the Electoral Roll for 6 months. At the APCM we will be electing new members of the PCC and Deanery Synod, as well as the annual elections of Churchwardens, Vice Chair and PCC Secretary. In the last year we have begun to form the Benefice Vision of where we wish to see St Mary’s and St Anne’s in the next 10 years. If you wish to support and develop this, then please consider being elected at the APCM and take responsibility for supporting the Church and how it will grow.
