Your Way In…

We are always pleased to make contact with new people, and welcome them to St Mary’s and St Anne’s. You will be made welcome, and we will invite you to share in the life of the church, but we will not put you under pressure.

Join us at a Sunday service…

We have different services — some larger, some quieter and smaller, some in traditional form, some with more contemporary language, some with children present, some without. You will have the chance to speak with us after the service, if you wish.

See Details of Sunday services.

…or on a weekday

The clergy and a few others gather for prayers in church on weekdays — and you are welcome to be there as well.

Come and have a chat with us, or phone us up.

For all information about St Mary’s and St Anne’s, and enquiries about baptisms and weddings contact the Parish Office. The Parish office is open on Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. — 12:00 noon, and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. — 12:00 noon. Leave a phone message at other times.

Come and have a coffee on Saturday morning at church…

…and meet some people from St Mary’s, between 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon. Every Saturday morning one of our clergy is on hand at the Parish Office (immediately next to the church) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Or you can phone or write to one of them. If you just want to meet one of the clergy, or talk something over in confidence, come and see us on a Saturday morning, or phone at another time.

If you prefer, call in at the Parish Office on weekday mornings. We can give you information there, or else leave your name and address and we will contact you.

Come with someone else

We know that sometimes it takes effort and courage to go to something new. We also know that lots of people would like to come to church, but aren’t sure about coming on their own. If you are like that, give us a call. We can arrange for someone to meet you outside church and come in with you. Or, if you like, they can come and say, “Hello”, to you at your home before you come to a service.

Come in through one of our weekday groups

We have groups for young parents, for older people, for exploring the Christian faith, for prayer, for activity related to church services. If you are not sure which group might best suit what you are looking for, contact one of the clergy.

Come in through the children

If you have children, then you will find St Mary’s and St Anne’s welcomes them, most particularly at our 10:00 a.m. (St Mary’s) and 10:15 a.m. (St Anne’s) services on Sunday. We have a crèche every Sunday for the very young, and children’s groups most Sundays for boys and girls of primary school age. You will find lots of other families with children too.

Come in through our music

Do you sing or play an instrument? Do your ring bells? We have a whole range of bellringing and music in the worship offered by both churches, and you would be welcome to contribute to this. The bells are rung every Sunday, and St Mary’s Robed Choir, and St Mary’s Singers and St Anne’s choir sing at most services week by week. Instruments are used in special services at times like Christmas and Easter, but also on other occasions through the year.
