During the week our church members aim to witness to the Christian Gospel wherever they are - at home, at work, at leisure. But we also have activities based at the church, to which all are welcome. These activities are designed to encourage and support people in their Christian lives, and also to reach out to others.
St Mary’s is open on weekday mornings up till 12 noon, and you are welcome to come in to look round, to sit and be quiet, to say your prayers.
Come and share in these smaller services. Check The details in this week’s leaflet.
Once a month we conduct services in each of the Rest Homes in our parish , and visit residents on other occasions. We also have services in sheltered accommodation complexes.
See further information on our Rest Home Ministry.
The Wednesday Group meets each week around the year (8 p.m.), for discussion, bible study, support and recreation.
The Prayer Group meets fortnightly on Tuesday evenings from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
This provides a structured time for prayer and stillness in the middle of busy lives.
Other groups meet for discussion and study for short seasons, particularly in the autumn and in Lent. Look at specific information on house groups.
A Service with Prayer for Healing is held at 8 p.m. on the first Tuesday, every other month. This is a Communion service, with a time of prayer for healing - for our bodies, our minds, our memories, our current situations. We remember individual people in prayer, and any people present may request laying on of hands and/or anointing with oil. These are signs of God’s blessing, and of his work upon us.
Every Wednesday and Saturday in church you will find Coffee & Company from 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon. Simply drop in and have a chat, and meet whoever else is there.
