Intercessions
We remember those with birthdays this week, especially Chris Everett (4th), Lis Sparrow (5th), Charlotte Smith and Louis Mattis (6th), Laura Johnson (8th), and Jane Briggs and Pat Rawlings (10th).
The church is open every morning between 10:00 a.m. and 12 noon, but to enable us to keep the church open in this way, we need more people to offer an hour one morning a week to be available in church. If you can help, please have a word with Jonathan Hodgson.
Gift Aid: If you are a taxpayer, please maximise your giving in the Offertory Plate by using the Gift Aid envelopes provided.
All notices for next week’s leaflet, please, to the Parish Office (info@stmarysmoseley.co.uk) by 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. For more information, phone the Parish Office, 0121 449 2243 mornings. Messages can be left at any time.

Of all the seasons of the Christian year, Pentecost highlights the limitations of human language to express our thoughts of God. This also applies on a human level. The love shown on the faces of bride and groom says much more than the verbal exchange of vows. Love cannot be expressed in words alone, love is of God. So too, the truth of Pentecost is beyond words. But if we look in the right direction, Unto Jesus, the Holy Spirit will enlighten, guide and encourage us. The collect for today prays that we may have a right judgement in all things, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the encouraging message of Pentecost is that God the Holy Spirit has been given to come alongside and help us, as we seek to discern God’s will for ourselves and his world.
As we grow in our knowledge of God it is a humbling thought that other people will derive some of their knowledge of Him from us if we live close to God through our prayers and communion with Him. And all this is part of the work of the Holy Spirit for which we thank God today.
God, who as at this time taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit: grant us by the same spirit to have a right judgement in all things and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through the merits of Christ Jesus our saviour, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
